Position Title: Welder/Fabricator – Automotive
Department: Production
Supervisor: Production Manager
Job Type: Full-time

At Freedom Motors USA, we convert multiple makes and models of SUVs and minivans to wheelchair accessible vehicles that advance the lives of those we serve.

General Purpose:

The purpose of the Welder/Fabricator is to utilize one’s skills and training to accomplish the assigned tasks in a timely manner while meeting the standards set forth in safety, quality, and productivity.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

In the conversion process welders/fabricators will be assigned workstations based on one’s abilities and expertise.  This is a list of functions that compromise some, but not all, of the skills need.  No one job assignment will require all that are listed.

  • Follows and ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to weld overhead for long periods of time
  • Follows all OSHA safety regulations, as well as company quality and productivity standards
  • Ability to operate some or all the following depending on job assignment:  MIG welder and grinder, cutoff wheel and Sawzall
  • Proficient with analyzing and fabricating from drawings, schematics, and sketches
  • Ability to operate a cutoff wheel, pneumatic hammer, impact gun
  • Use and read both standard and metric measuring devices
  • Knowledge of welding machine operation, regulating current, and voltage for the proper fusion of metals
  • Understanding of vehicle mechanics and bodywork
  • One (1+) years’ experience welding and fabrication
  • Mechanically inclined

General Duties subject to but not limited to:

  • Perform Pre-Inspections of parts when required
  • Eye for detail
  • Works well with hands, hand tools, and small power tools
  • Assist other departments and areas as needed
  • Assist with trouble shooting issues as needed
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in work area
  • Maintains good attendance
  • Checking work, and keep your work free of mistakes and errors
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time

General Purpose:

The purpose of the Wiring Technician is to utilize one’s skills and training to accomplish the assigned tasks in a timely manner while meeting the standards set forth in safety, quality, and productivity.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

    • Follows and ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures.
    • Follows all OSHA safety regulations, as well as company quality and productivity standards.
    • Remove bumpers, lower interior trim, seats, and carpeting. Organize vehicle’s removed items on a labeled cart.
    • Experience working with soldering equipment.
    • Cut, extend, and reroute vehicle wiring within the vehicle.
    • As needed, add wiring to vehicles for hydraulic ramp systems and specialty adaptive equipment.
    • Build wiring harnesses for fuel tanks and automatic ramp systems and build control modules for some automatic ramps.
    • Reconnect wiring for fuel and ABS systems after wheelchair conversion is completed and test and inspect functionality of electrical systems.
  • Maintain equipment and inspect for performance and safety concerns.

General Duties subject to but not limited to:

  • ASE electrical certification preferred
  • Experience with wiring repair and electrical diagnostics preferred

The purpose of the Automotive Sales Representative is to change people’s lives by helping them find a vehicle that best fits their individual mobility needs.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Follow and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Travel the Midwest to meet with clients and demonstrate products at their home
  • Listen to our customers unique situation to provide a professional consultation while guiding them in their quest to make the best decisions for themselves and their family
  • Ensure timely follow up and maintain strong relationships with previous and prospective customers in our CRM software.
  • Build new and existing customer relationships
  • Utilize our CRM to manage and prospect current or potential customers
  • Stay informed of incoming inventory, features, accessories, and how they benefit customers
  • Communicate with assigned Sales Admin. Assistant and Inside Sales Team
  • Overcome basic sales objections and contract customers at their home
  • Maintain strong communication with the customer throughout the sales cycle – from the onset of communication to beyond the vehicle delivery using multiple platforms of communication

General Purpose:

The purpose of the Sales Administrator is to change people’s lives by being their champion throughout the purchasing process.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Working with the sales team to ensure accuracy with deals and paperwork and processing work orders.
  • Gathering and documenting information from customers through our Customer Relations Management (CRM) system
  • Tracking inventory status throughout the production and sales process using or Dealership Management Software (DMS) and physically walking production
  • Use of Credit Union Direct Lending (CUDL) software
  • Wowing our customers with excellent customer service by providing status updates on vehicles currently in production as well as scheduled builds to customers and sales personnel
  • Communicating with customers via email, text, and calls
  • Maintain a steady workflow for sales personnel in the absence of the Vice President of Sales.
